The man caught driving drunk over the weekend has posted bail.
58-year-old Travis E. Goins of Manitowoc had his bail set at $1,000 by Court Commissioner Patricia Koppa on a charge of OWI 4th Offense Causing Injury, which he has since furnished.
Officers were called to a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of South 12th and Madison Streets at 11:00 Friday evening.
Goins was said to smell of alcohol, which he tried to mask by chewing gum.
He claimed the other vehicle “came out of nowhere” and failed a field sobriety test.
The driver of the second vehicle went to a local hospital for treatment of unspecified injuries.
As a part of his bail, Goins was ordered to have no contact with the victim, not to operate any motor vehicles, and to maintain absolute sobriety.
He is due for his initial appearance on September 15th in Branch 3.
