Police Officer Thomas R. Dodge
The Two Rivers Police Department will be remembering an officer who was killed in the line of duty over 50 years ago.
A remembrance ceremony for Officer Thomas Dodge will be held at Central Park West on the Schmidt Brothers stage today (September 10th) at 4:00 p.m.
Officer Dodge was shot and killed by a man after being called for a welfare check when the man didn’t check out of a Two Rivers hospital.
He was only 24 years old.
There will be some officers who worked with Dodge during his tenure, and some residents may also have the opportunity to share a few words.
The Two Rivers High School band will also perform, followed by a wreath presentation ceremony.
If there is rain, the event will be moved inside to the J.E. Hamilton Community House.
Dodge and Officer Leo Rocque are both remembered by the Two Rivers Police Department, as evidenced by the back of their squad cars, a plaque, and a picture in Two Rivers City Hall.
