
One person is in custody after driving drunk in the wrong direction on Interstate 41.
Law enforcement in Outagamie County was notified late Saturday night (September 6th) of a wrong-way driver on Highway 441 heading north toward Interstate 41 in the southbound lane.
Officers with the Kaukauna Police Department would respond to Interstate 41 to try and intercept the wrong-way driver; however, before their arrival, the wrong-way driver would collide with a southbound vehicle carrying three individuals just south of Highway 55.
The driver of the southbound vehicle, a pregnant 27-year-old woman, along with two passengers, her husband, and their 1-year-old child, were all injured and transported to a local hospital to treat non-life-threatening injuries.
The driver of the wrong-way vehicle, a 25-year-old man, was deemed to be possibly under the influence of alcohol and was also transported for medical treatment on non-life-threatening injuries.
Upon his release from the hospital, he was transported and booked into the Outagamie County Jail on charges of Operating While Intoxicated Causing Injury.
Currently, the crash remains under investigation by the Wisconsin State Patrol.
