The new way the City of Two Rivers provides information to residents has already become a hit.
Police Chief Ben Meinnert explained on WOMT’s Be My Guest program last week that the Cool City Connect, the city’s new e-newsletter, reached over 1,400 people after the first edition came out.
Meinnert says City Manager Kyle Kordell was looking for a new way to reach more people who aren’t watching the city council meetings for the city manager’s report.
“Kordell had look into YouTube and stuff and seen, I think it was something like an average of 55 people would tune in on YouTube for that, of which they would only hang around for four minutes,” he explained. “So, just looking at the analytics, he thought, there’s got to be a better way to do this.”
Therefore, the city decided to create an e-newsletter to provide residents with information. Meinnert says he hopes more people will engage and look at the digital newsletter.
Two Rivers residents voted on the name Cool City Connect.
Anyone interested in signing up for the newsletter can do so on the Two Rivers City Hall Facebook page.
