A woman who was stranded in space will be on hand for the 11th annual Bellin Women’s Half Marathon & 5K Women’s Inspiration Dinner.
Astronaut Sunita Williams will deliver the keynote speech at the dinner on October 3rd.
As the runners get ready for the race the following day, which has the theme FIERCE.
Williams is a veteran of three space missions and holder of the record for the most spacewalk time among female astronauts, and is described as “a shining example of professional dedication, pioneering spirit, and commitment to physical fitness.”
She was among the crew that was stranded in space for over nine months due to some technical issues with the Boeing Starliner spacecraft.
