Residents have been displaced after a fire in the City of Sheboygan.
The Sheboygan Fire Department was called to a single-family residence in the 2300 block of South 16th Street yesterday (September 4th) just before 10:15 a.m.
A full department dispatch was initiated, and fire crews arrived on the scene within three minutes of the call.
Once on the scene, crews observed heavy smoke and flames coming from the home’s second story.
Firefighters immediately began attacking the blaze from the exterior prior to making entry to ensure that all occupants had evacuated.
Upon searching the house, they confirmed that everyone had made it out safely and began interior fire suppression on the second story.
The fire department has confirmed that no injuries were sustained by the residents or fire personnel.
However, it has been estimated that the fire caused approximately $75,000 in damage, and the residents have been displaced.
At this time, the cause of the fire remains unknown and is under investigation.
The Sheboygan Fire Department was assisted in their response by the Sheboygan Police Department, Town of Wilson Fire Department, Town of Sheboygan Fire Department, Kohler Fire Department, and the Sheboygan County Emergency Communications Center.
