There are some big things happening with the Manitowoc Warming Shelter.
The shelter is providing an update while they work to possibly purchase the soon-to-be former offices of St. Francis of Assisi Parish on North 8th Street.
The Diocese of Green Bay is reviewing its application to buy the office building, while Crossroads Community Church has donated 12 brand new cots.
The warming shelter has also raised $60,000 toward their $100,000 matching challenge, where every dollar given is doubled until October 31st.
The public is invited to talk to members of the Manitowoc Warming Shelter and The Neighborhood at SputnikFest, which gets underway tomorrow (September 6th) at noon and goes until 6:00 p.m.
They can also stop by the shelter to take a tour of what the warming shelter has right now.
The shelter is also asking the public for their attendance at two public hearings at the Manitowoc Common Council.
More information can be found at the Manitowoc Warming Shelter’s Facebook page.
