Two Sheboygan-based nonprofits are teaming up to give back to the community.
The United Way of Sheboygan County’s Day of Caring is slated for September 25th, and will see over 1,000 volunteers from around the county putting in the time to help power programs to strengthen the community.
One of those programs will be a fellow nonprofit, the Humane Society of Sheboygan County.
On the Day of Caring, volunteers can sign up to do their work at the local animal shelter to help with things such as outdoor landscaping, deep cleaning, organizing supplies, and more.
In doing this, volunteers can help ensure that the Humane Society will be a cleaner, more welcoming space for animals in their care.
Volunteers helping at the Humane Society are required to be 16 years or older.
Options available will be half-day and full-day shifts, each featuring lunch on-site, and opportunities to meet the many animals up for adoption.
Anyone interested in signing up is asked to register no later than September 18th.
