
A group of Manitowoc veterans participated in the Hmong National Labor Day Festival over the weekend.
Vietnam Veterans of America, Chapter 731 of Manitowoc, served as the Honor Guard for the commemoration and dedication of a monument to the Hmong people who fought in the CIA’s secret war.
The festival was held at the Winnebago County Community Park and served as a thank you from the community for the Hmong people’s service to the United States during the Vietnam War.
May 14th, 2025, is the 50th anniversary of the fall of Laos, which marked the end of the Laotian Civil War, which was a part of the Vietnam War.
Hundreds of people from around the country convened in Oshkosh for the event, including several members of the Special Guerrilla Unit, funded by the CIA.
