Public transportation routes are set to change due to an extended road closure in the City of Sheboygan.
Pennsylvania Avenue was officially closed between North 13th Street and Commerce Street yesterday morning (September 2nd), and Shoreline Metro has shared bus line detours in conjunction with that closure.
A total of six bus routes will be affected during the closure, including routes going to and from the now-closed portion of Pennsylvania Avenue.
Detours will be as follows:
- Route 3 North Outbound Using North 10th Street to Erie Avenue to North 14th Street
- Route 3 South Inbound on Indiana Avenue to North 10th Street to Pennsylvania Avenue
- Route 10 North Inbound Using Erie Avenue to North 9th Street to Pennsylvania Avenue
- Route 10 South Outbound on South 8th Street to Indiana Avenue to Pennsylvania Avenue
- Route 20 North Inbound Using Indiana Avenue to 10th Street to Pennsylvania Avenue
- Route 20 South Outbound on South 9th Street to Indiana Avenue to South 14th Street
Shoreline Metro has said these detoured bus lines will be in place for three weeks while work is done by the Department of Public Works.
However, the DPW stated in their announcement of the closure that while work is expected to be completed by late September, no concrete end date has been put in place.
Future updates on the public transit impacts of this closure can be found by visiting the Shoreline Metro Facebook page.
