A Sheboygan bar owner and Lakeland University graduate is set to speak at the school’s Opening Convocation.
The Opening Convocation will take place on Thursday (September 4th) at 11:00 a.m. inside Lakeland’s Bradley Theatre and feature speaker Eric Kriete, a 1999 graduate and co-owner of the Silver Fern Pub.
The Silver Fern, located at 2538 North 15th Street in Sheboygan, is also co-owned by Eric’s wife, Mandy Kriete.
Not only do the duo own and manage the beloved establishment, but they both work as bartenders as well.
This speaking opportunity does not mark Eric’s first return to his alma mater, as he danced in the 2014 Movers & Shakers Gala and was a panelist at the 2022 Lakeland Business and Entrepreneurship Colloquium.
At the Colloquium, he shared stories of his journey of being a family businessman turned entrepreneur and bar owner.
