The United Way of Manitowoc County is once again teaming up with a country music icon.
The local organization is gearing up for another iteration of the DollyWalk fundraiser, a 2-mile walk along the Mariners Trail, with support from the Dolly Parton Imagination Library program.
Check-in will begin at 8:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 13th, with a preregistration cost of $32 and a day-of cost of $40.
Children under 5 can participate for free, and the first 50 registrants receive a free Dolly Parton wig. The Walk includes a storyboard of “The Little Engine That Could”, a train, and a Dolly cutout photo booth, and free snacks.
Women United also invites walkers to dress like Dolly. Registration forms are available at the United Way Manitowoc County officers, located at 33 East Waldo Boulevard, Suite 2, in Manitowoc.
The Imagination Library is dedicated to inspiring a love of reading by gifting free books to children from birth to age 5.
This program is made possible through funding shared by Dolly Parton herself and local affiliates like United Way.
