The Patriot Riders of America, WI Chapter 2, is inviting everyone out to a fundraiser to benefit a local veteran.
On October 4th, the Manitowoc-based organization will be at Tapped on the Lakeshore for the 2nd Annual Axe-Treme Competition.
Proceeds from the event will benefit U.S. Marine Katie Ripley of Two Rivers as she battles invasive ductal carcinoma.
Since being diagnosed in December of 2024, Katie has undergone countless appointments, tests, and procedures, including a double mastectomy in February.
She recently began chemotherapy and will be followed by reconstruction surgery and hormone therapy, which will span over a 5-year period.
Katie honorably served in the United States Marine Corps from October 2007 to October 2012, completing two tours in Iraq.
The fundraiser will feature an axe-throwing competition, but there will also be raffle baskets and gift certificates.
