Charges have been formally filed against a teacher in the Plymouth School District accused of sexually assaulting a student.
Court records show that 42-year-old Marcie Zimmerman made her initial appearance in Fond du Lac County court yesterday (August 28th).
Zimmerman has been charged with Sexual Assault of a Student by School Staff, Sexual Intercourse with a Child 16 Years or Older, and Exposing a Child to Harmful Material.
The 42-year-old was arrested on Monday (August 25th) by the Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office after an investigation revealed that she allegedly sexually assaulted a since-graduated Plymouth student.
While teaching in Plymouth, which is in Sheboygan County, it is said that the sexual assault took place within Fond du Lac County.
The Sheriff’s Office gained probable cause throughout the investigation that a crime was committed, prompting her arrest earlier this week.
According to Zimmerman’s LinkedIn page, prior to her time in the Plymouth School District, she also served as an agricultural teacher at Reedsville High School.
At yesterday’s initial appearance, she had her bond set at $250,000 cash, and she is to have no contact with the victim, any person under the age of 18, or Plymouth High School.
Zimmerman returns to court for her preliminary hearing on October 21st.
