A man is facing criminal charges in connection with the drowning death of Jakob Bowerman.
Tylor Robert Birch has been charged with second-degree reckless homicide after allegedly pushing Bowerman into the Menominee River alongside a 16-year-old boy last Wednesday.
Initially, both Birch and the teen claimed all three had jumped into the river and needed to help Bowerman, who couldn’t swim.
However, police later discovered video evidence showing Birch and the teenager forcibly throwing Bowerman into the water.
Bowerman died in the hospital days later.
