A man was arrested after threatening to kill people in downtown Manitowoc.
Manitowoc Police were dispatched to The Wharf at 7:30 Wednesday evening, after witnesses heard a man saying he wanted to kill someone.
The officers located the suspect in a white van, but before they could approach, the man began to drive away.
A traffic stop was conducted at the intersection of Quay and South 8th Streets, but as police approached the vehicle, the 38-year-old man yelled, “I am going to kill you all.”
He complied with the officers when they asked him to get out of the vehicle, but said he had a taser and started to reach for it.
He stopped when asked to, but continued to berate the officers, saying things like “I am not going to play these games” and “You guys have framed me five *expletive* times.”
He was then placed in handcuffs, and a search of his person uncovered the aforementioned taser.
In total, the man was arrested on charges of Threats to Law Enforcement, Making Terrorist Threats, Possession of an Electronic Weapon, Disorderly Conduct, and Misdemeanor Bail Jumping.
