The trial in the Lily Peters case is moving.
Carson Peters-Berger is charged with sexually assaulting and killing 10-year-old Lily Peters in 2022.
The trial will no longer take place in Chippewa County.
A judge approved the defense’s request to relocate the trial, citing concerns that extensive media coverage and public awareness could prevent a fair trial locally.
The case stems from Peters’ death near her home in Chippewa Falls.
A new trial date has yet to be scheduled.
