A nonprofit in Sheboygan County is preparing for its biggest community service day of the year.
The United Way of Sheboygan County’s annual Day of Caring is set to take place on September 25th.
This day of service will not only help out countless individuals across the county but also serve as the official kickoff to United Way’s annual fundraising campaign as well.
Understanding how important this event is to a successful fundraising campaign, United Way has said, “By starting the day with action, we ignite the energy, generosity, and momentum that fuels our work throughout the year.”
Last year’s Day of Caring was a major success that saw over 1,000 volunteers committing more than 4,500 hours of their time to help power programs that strengthen Sheboygan County.
These hours of service had volunteers complete 63 community projects while creating nearly $145,000 of economic impact in just one day.
2024’s service day also featured individuals from 24 companies in the county and was supported by $15,000 in grant funding from the United Way.
As explained by the United Way of Sheboygan, this day allows individuals and organizations to be part of something bigger.
They said, “On Day of Caring, you’re not just volunteering, you’re showing up for your neighbors, your community, and the causes that matter most. Whether you’re planting flowers, painting a mural, organizing supplies, or helping nonprofits tackle their biggest needs, your time and talent go a long way.”
Following the completion of the various volunteering projects, the public is invited to the Day of Caring After Party, which will be held at 3 Sheeps Brewing.
The After Party will celebrate the work done on the 25th, but also honor United Way for marking 90 years of service in Sheboygan County.
The event will feature live music, a 50/50 raffle, a brat and burger fry, and much more, including $1 of every Wisconsinitis beer sold being donated back to the United Way.
