Investigators have uncovered new details in the UW-Platteville murder-suicide, including concerning online activity.
According to police reports, Hallie Helms had researched topics such as firearm purchases, suicide, and the layout of the residence hall where the incident occurred.
Her roommate also told investigators that Helms had recently asked disturbing questions like “how would you rob a bank?” and “if you were to kill someone, how would you do it?”
Authorities say Helms shot and killed resident assistant Kelsie Martin before turning the gun on herself.
Both women had graduated from UW-Platteville just a week prior to the incident.
