A teacher in the Sheboygan Area School District has been recognized by the Sheboygan County Chamber of Commerce for her outstanding work.
The Chamber and SASD have shared that Jaslyn Posewitz of Sheboygan South High School is the winner of the Golden Apple Award and has been named the educator of the year in the county.
Posewitz received the award last week at the annual Workforce Development Symposium.
Posewitz, a former Redwing herself, serves as a Transition Specialist at South, aiding students with disabilities as they prepare for life after high school.
Her duties are extensive and include exploring higher education and accommodation services, arranging job shadows, and preparing them for their first jobs.
While congratulating her on the award, SASD stated, “Through collaboration with the Sheboygan County workforce, she advocates for equal opportunities for all students, regardless of disability, age, ability, race, or socioeconomic status, because every student deserves a chance to succeed.”
Other SASD teachers up for the award included Dannielle Arneson, Jacks Grabowski, Craig Heeler, and Leighanne Metter-Jensen.
Other nominees also included Beau Biller and Todd Williams of Plymouth, Kimberly Hager from Howards Grove, and Ryan Halverson of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic School.
