A Madison-based priest has been arrested on child enticement charges.
This arrest comes after allegedly attempting to meet a 14-year-old girl for sex.
Police say 37-year-old Andrew Showers drove to Clintonville on Sunday with the intent to engage in illegal activity with the minor.
Authorities, who had received a tip-off about his plans, arrested him around 7:30 p.m.
Showers was taken to the Waupaca County Jail and is facing possible charges, including child enticement and attempted second-degree sexual assault of a minor.
The District Attorney’s Office is currently reviewing the case.
