A former Milwaukee Police Department staff member is facing charges related to election fraud.
Authorities claim the suspect, Marcey Patterson, voted in Milwaukee elections despite actually residing outside the city.
She’s also alleged to have improperly received a three percent residency bonus meant for city residents, totaling more than $8,000 in overpayments.
Patterson reportedly told investigators she spends most of her time at her Brown Deer home but still considers her Milwaukee address her primary residence.
If convicted, she could face up to three and a half years behind bars and a fine of $10,000.
