A man is facing charges after allegedly stalking an individual at various bars in Manitowoc.
Officers were called to Chewy’s Bar on North 8th Street at 2:30 Saturday morning (August 23rd) on a report of a fight in progress.
The fight was broken up, and as the officers were gathering witness statements, an individual noted that one of the combatants had been stalking them all day.
The 24-year-old man was reportedly uncooperative, calling the officers derogatory names and attempting to walk away.
The victim claimed the suspect had been following them around the bar and trying to grab their arm.
Similar situations were also reported on previous dates at other establishments.
Other witnesses corroborated the victim’s story, stating the suspect approached the victim four times within 30 minutes, grabbing their arm and trying to talk to them.
The suspect reportedly commented to the officers that the victim was “beautiful” and that he “couldn’t help himself”.
Other females also reported being approached by the man, saying he had been “an issue” all night.
The man was taken into custody on charges of Stalking, Disorderly Conduct, and Misdemeanor Bail Jumping.
