A Menasha man is in custody in connection with a shooting in Oshkosh earlier this month.
The Oshkosh Police Department was called to the 1000 block of Wisconsin Street on a weapons call in the early morning hours of August 2nd.
They arrived to find a 19-year-old man with a gunshot wound in the shoulder and no suspect on the scene.
The teen was hospitalized after the incident but has since been released.
However, after an extensive investigation, the shooter was identified as a 20-year-old Menasha man.
Yesterday (August 20th), a surveillance operation was initiated on the suspect who was located at a business in Grand Chute.
When approached by law enforcement, the man attempted to flee out the back door of the establishment, but was apprehended.
A subsequent search warrant was executed at his home in the 1100 block of Grove Street in Menasha.
At his residence, authorities uncovered a Glock .45 handgun equipped with a laser as well as a 9mm MAC-10 submachine gun.
The 20-year-old is being held in the Winnebago County Jail on charges of Attempted First Degree Reckless homicide and First Degree Recklessly Endangering Safety.
