A state representative from western Manitowoc County is putting a spotlight on two of his bills that recently became law.
3rd District Assemblyman Ron Tusler explains that Assembly Bill 121 was developed as part of a Legislative Council Study aimed at updating Wisconsin’s battery laws.
The changes clarify legal language, update specific terms, and make the law easier to understand.
The bill also broadens the meaning of “family member” and adds “jail” to the list of places where bodily harm by a prisoner is a crime.
Rep. Tusler’s other bill focuses on protecting judges by keeping their personal information private, aiming to reduce the risk of violence against them and their families.
Rep. Tusler noted, “With so many different stakeholders and so much information available, this update was essential to ensure we’re doing everything we can to protect our judges.”
