The trial for Chad Richards, accused of murdering UW-Whitewater gymnast Kara Welsh, has been postponed until next year.
Originally slated to begin in December, jury selection is now scheduled for June 8.
The jury trial will then begin the following day.
Richards faces a charge of first-degree intentional homicide in connection to Welsh’s fatal shooting in August 2024.
Authorities say the two were in a romantic relationship at the time.
