A woman charged with mistreatment of animals is getting a three-year deferred judgment.
25-year-old Elizabeth Rahmlow was found guilty due to a no contest plea on all three counts she faced, including a felony count of mistreatment of animals causing death, and two misdemeanor counts of intentionally abandoning an animal and failing to provide for an animal.
She will pay over $1,000 in fines and costs, as well as a new cash bail of $2,500.
Judge Robert Dewane will hear from Rahmlow again in August 2028 due to the deferred agreement.
Rahmlow was arrested in 2024 after police responded to a report of a dog being found in a Two Rivers apartment.
According to a criminal complaint, the new tenant discovered a crate containing what appeared to be blankets inside.
But he removed the blankets and found remains of a blue heeler-type dog inside.
Officers would recover the remains from a dumpster at a Manitowoc business after they were brought out of the apartment by the tenant.
Rahmlow was questioned about leaving the dog behind, stating that she had found a new owner for the dog.
The dog was found in February 2025, but the 25-year-old moved out in June 2024.
