A new firefighter in Sheboygan has reached a milestone in his young career.
The Sheboygan Fire Department has shared that Firefighter/Paramedic James Annelin has completed the Paramedic program at Milwaukee Area Technical College (MATC) and has also passed his National Registry exam.
Annelin is one of many firefighters hired under the department’s new hiring criteria, which allows new hires to attend school, like Annelin did, while still working.
Since being hired last year, he has completed both the EMT certification and the Paramedic Program at MATC while simultaneously serving the community with the department.
Annelin was officially sworn in last month alongside fellow Firefighter/Paramedic McKenna Schulz.
As part of their announcement, the Sheboygan Fire Department commended Annelin for his accomplishments, saying, “We are proud of James’s dedication and hard work, and we look forward to his continued contributions to the SFD.”
