There are a pair of meetings on tap for today (August 18th) in the City of Manitowoc, both of them being held in the Council Chambers.
The Committee of the Whole will start the night at 5:45 p.m., where they will discuss a settlement agreement between Wal-Mart Stores Inc. and the City of Manitowoc.
They will then conduct negotiations with Newell Operating Company for remediation recovery at the former Mirro Site.
Then, the Common Council will take over the chambers at 6:30 p.m. where they will start with a moment of silence for Alderman Jim Brey, who passed away last week.
Then, after welcoming Firefighter Paramedic Brian Feldman to the Fire Rescue Department, the Council will approve updates to the sections of the Employee Policy Manual that relate to training/expenses, unpaid leave, performance management and compensation, smoking/tobacco use, and electronic communication and information systems.
