The City of Manitowoc has been safer this July compared to the same period last year.
Numbers from the Manitowoc Police Department indicate that they received 2,668 calls for service last month, a decrease from 2,929 in July 2024.
The yearly calls for service are also down compared to last year. There have been 16,416 total calls in 2025, compared to 18,744 at the same time last year.
Adult and juvenile criminal charges are also lower than they were in the previous year. In July, 135 adults were charged, compared to 183 in July 2024.
Additionally, there were five juvenile charges this year, compared to seven in July 2024. The one category where statistics are up is in accidents.
86 accidents were reported last month, compared to 68 the previous year.
More ordinance citations have also been issued this year, with 94. That’s compared to 86 this time last year.
