The Clipper City Chordsmen are looking to raise $10,000 with just their voices.
Their “Teach the World to Sing” event takes place on Saturday, September 20th, at 1:00 p.m. at the Franciscan Center, but practices will start up next week.
The Chordsmen are inviting men in the community to join them in learning three songs to sing on stage.
There is no obligation to join the Chordsmen, and participants don’t even have to memorize the songs.
Rehearsals for the upcoming event start on Tuesday (August 19th) and will also take place on August 26th, as well as September 2nd, 9th, and 16th.
Last September, the Chordsmen raised over $7,000 and shared the entire amount with local area schools by sending checks for $650 to each high school music program.
This year, the group wants to raise over $10,000.
