An author from Sheboygan has been honored on a national stage.
Author and retired prosecuting attorney Mary T. Wagner received a first-place award from the National Federation of Press Women for her book “Of Bairns and Wheelie Bins.”
She also won the 2025 NFPW Communications Contest for her appearance on BBC Scotland to talk about the book.
“Of Bairns and Wheelie Bins” is described as a “cheeky guide to understanding British TV detectives.”
Wagner wrote the book as a way for her to understand what was actually going on in her favorite British detective series.
The Sheboygan resident is also the author of several award-winning essay collections including Running with Stilettos and Fabulous in Flats, and the Finnigan the Circus Cat trio of chapter books for young readers.
