A chimney fire in Green Bay has displaced four people.
WBAY reports that Green Bay Metro Fire was called to the 1000 block of Chantel Street yesterday (August 14th) at 6:00 p.m. on a report of a structure fire.
Fire crews found black smoke coming from the front door and the chimney when they arrived on the scene.
Flames were discovered in the basement and were brought under control in approximately 10 minutes.
Four people in the home were able to evacuate without injury, but the Green Bay Metro Fire Department estimates that $10,000 in damage was caused.
The department also reminds residents to check that their smoke detectors are in working condition.
