A Manitowoc man facing both state and federal charges in an armed robbery case has had his bail reduced.
Court records show that 42-year-old Oscar Rodriguez was back in Manitowoc County court asking to have his bond reduced on Tuesday (August 12th).
Judge Anthony Lambrecht approved reducing Rodriguez’s bail from $100,000 to $20,000 cash.
The conditions stipulate that if the 42-year-old posts bond, he will be supervised by the U.S. Probation Office for the Eastern District of Wisconsin.
Rodriguez will return to court on October 2nd for a status conference.
He was arrested in the Town of Newton in September last year during a traffic stop.
It’s alleged that he was involved in a robbery and attempted homicide in Manitowoc at the Viebahn Apartments in 2023.
Prosecutors say Rodriguez was involved with 61-year-old Clarence Holder when they tried to rob a man before he was shot and got away.
Rodriguez is charged with armed robbery with a threat of force, while Holder faces charges including attempted 1st-degree homicide, attempted armed robbery, burglary, and possession of a firearm by a felon.
He’s due back in court in November for a pre-trial conference.
