Health officials have confirmed the presence of West Nile Virus in mosquitoes collected in Rock County.
This marks the first detection since surveillance efforts began last month.
The virus, which is transmitted to humans through bites from infected mosquitoes, can lead to serious health issues such as high fever and tremors.
This year, one human case has been reported in Barron County.
Infected mosquitoes were also identified in Milwaukee and Lafayette counties.
