Women in the community will be the focus of an event at the Manitowoc County Fair next week.
The County Fair Board has announced that a Women’s Day Event will be held on Saturday, August 23rd, inside the Ice Center.
This woman-focused event will run from noon to 1:30 p.m. with doors opening at 11:00 a.m.
Those in attendance will have the opportunity to hear three guest speakers and a musical performance from a local high school student.
Speakers scheduled to speak include Jessica Hodkiewicz with Froedtert Holy Family Memorial, Lynn Seidl-Babcock of HomeCare Health Services, and Katrina Buechner from Inspire Coffeehouse.
Music entertainment will be provided by Manitowoc Lincoln High School sophomore and violinist, Hannah Nickels.
The speakers aim to empower women in the community while helping a good cause, as attendees are encouraged to bring in nonperishables that will be donated to Peter’s Pantry.
Extra raffle tickets will be awarded to those who do bring items in that can be put towards many door prizes that will be handed out as well.
Regarding the event, the fair has said, “It’s going to be an uplifting afternoon filled with connection, celebration, and fun. Don’t miss it! Snap some photos, bring a friend, and help us spread the word.”
