An annual campaign to remind everyone to drive sober begins in Eastern Wisconsin tomorrow (August 15th).
The Manitowoc and Two Rivers Police Departments, along with the Manitowoc County Sheriff’s Office, will be participating in the Labor Day Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over campaign, which will run through September 1st.
On average, someone is injured or killed in an impaired driving crash every 2.3 hours in Wisconsin.
In 2024, there were over 7,000 impaired driving crashes that claimed the lives of 163 people and injured 3500 people on Wisconsin roads.
Manitowoc Police Lieutenant Bruce Tuma suggests those who know they will be drinking select a designated driver ahead of time or take a form of public transportation.
If you believe someone is planning on driving under the influence, take their keys and help them get home safely.
