Charges have been made official for one of the two men implicated in a 2023 Green Bay murder.
The Green Bay Police Department has shared that 41-year-old Christian Rivera-Pica has been charged with one count of being a Party to the Crime of First-Degree Intentional Homicide with the Use of a Dangerous Weapon for the fatal shooting of 30-year-old Carlos Otero-Aviles of Green Bay on November 3rd, 2023.
Rivera-Pica and another unnamed 40-year-old Green Bay man were arrested last month in connection to the murder by Green Bay Police in collaboration with the U.S. Marshals Service Eastern Wisconsin Violent Offender Task Force.
On the day of the incident, authorities were called to the 1700 block of Western Avenue on a report of shots fired.
When they arrived, they discovered that Otero-Aviles had been shot in the parking lot of an apartment complex while attending a child’s birthday party.
At this time, the murder investigation remains ongoing, and police urge additional witnesses to come forward by contacting the Green Bay Police Department at 920-448-3200.
Rivera-Pica will return to court next Thursday (August 21st) for his preliminary hearing.
