A teenager from Suamico has been accused of trying to kill his mother.
Court records show that 16-year-old Ramone A. Waupoose is facing charges of Attempted First-Degree Intentional Homicide and First-Degree Reckless Injury, both carrying With the Use of a Dangerous Weapon modifiers for an incident that took place on July 16th.
At the 16-year-old’s initial appearance in court last week, his legal counsel raised concerns regarding the boy’s competency.
At this time, Waupoose remains in the Brown County Jail on a $50,000 cash bond.
FOX11 reports that Waupoose’s mother called police on July 16th, stating that her son, who she described as having autism, attacked her with a large pruning shears.
She continued to tell police that her son had been extremely upset with her after deleting rap videos from his YouTube account.
As Ramone’s behavior became increasingly concerning to his mother, she hid all sharp or dangerous objects in the home inside her car; however, the large pruning shears was missed.
That night, she found her son, who called her names before attacking her with the shears.
She suffered injuries to her face, head, and arms before escaping, and was found by police bleeding from the face.
Authorities later found messages on the teen’s phone indicating that he wished to kill his mother and ex-girlfriend.
Waupoose returns to court on August 25th for a competency hearing.
