Manitowoc’s public-school superintendent wants to continue meeting with community members outside of his office.
Superintendent Lee Thennes hosted two “Coffee and Conversation” sessions in July at Jenn’s Java, allowing parents and other interested parties in the district to discuss topics they wanted to learn more about.
Fifteen people attended the event to discuss student achievement, property taxes, the district’s new cell phone policy, and their strategic vision.
Thennes says because of the positive engagement, MPSD is working on offering the sessions monthly at rotating coffee shops throughout the district to ensure they remain connected and accessible to all members.
No new dates have officially been announced yet.
