An inmate at a state correctional facility has been convicted of 1st-degree reckless homicide.
FOX11 reports that 42-year-old Jumal Lipscomb was found guilty due to a no-contest plea in the death of another inmate at the Wisconsin Resource Center in Oshkosh back in 2024.
The resource center is managed by the Wisconsin Department of Health Services, along with the Wisconsin DOC.
According to a criminal complaint, Lipscomb attacked the victim abruptly by putting them in a chokehold before the person got away.
The suspect then started kicking and punching the victim before staff were able to break up the fight.
The person went into a coma and later died at a hospital. Lipscomb will return to court on September 8th for sentencing.
He was originally sentenced to prison in 2018 because of a robbery case in Waukesha County.
