The Calumet County Highway Department is preparing residents for a major highway project set to begin next week.
The Wisconsin DOT will be replacing eight culverts along US Highway 151 and Highway 55 between the South County Line and the North Village Limits of Stockbridge near Lake Winnebago starting next Monday (August 18th).
Projects will include full road closures for regular traffic, while homeowners, businesses, and first responders will still have access to the area.
US 151 and Highway 55 will be closed and detoured from the 18th to mid-November this year.
According to the DOT, the culverts are deteriorating, and if not replaced, the structures will become compromised, potentially causing a traffic hazard by failing to drain water off the roadway.
