An Eastern Wisconsin Senator is praising the approval of $5.2 million slated for projects throughout the area.
Senator Andre Jacque of New Franken tells SeehaferNews.com that the State Building Commission approved the spending of that money on projects at the Tennison Bay Campground in Door County and Collins Marsh in Manitowoc County.
The Tennison Bay Campground project will include updating the 1967-era restroom and shower facilities, completely rebuilding the structure, including electrical and mechanical systems, as well as replacing water supply and sanitary sewer lines.
At Collins Marsh, two radial gates on the 1960s-era dam will be replaced, allowing for easier and safer gate operation and improved vegetation and wildlife habitat management in the marsh.
Sen. Jacque, who was appointed to the Commission at the start of 2021, said, “I appreciate my fellow members recognizing the need to fund these projects to ensure that visitors and locals alike can enjoy these outdoor recreation opportunities for years to come.”
