Those who are planning to attend any high school sporting event involving a school in the Fox River Classic Conference (FRCC) will have to get their tickets online.
The FRCC began using GoFan for its ticketing at several schools last year, but this upcoming season, all schools, including Manitowoc Lincoln, have gone to the online ticketing format.
During the athletic code meeting, Lincoln Athletic Director Stan Dietrich made the announcement to the students and parents that the move was made to stay consistent with all other schools in the conference, and it makes it easier on the schools.
“We don’t have to be transferring all the amounts of cash and getting things prepared all of the time for that,” he explained. “We did use it at our WIAA tournament games. Our workers liked it a lot. It’s pretty easy. You just show it, click it, and go.”
Dietrich did admit that there may be some people who don’t know how to use the technology, and while they don’t want to turn anyone away, the last few seasons at other schools have shown it to not be a major issue.
“People that might not have the technology, they are going to find a way,” the Lincoln AD noted. “They are going to be with a parent or a grandchild or someone that does have it, and they use it to get in.”
The GoFan app can be downloaded on any smartphone through the Apple App Store or Google Play.
Tickets can be purchased on the app and transferred to another person. For more information on the app, either download it or visit GoFan.co.
