A Fond du Lac man has been sentenced for supplying the drugs that killed his relative.
FOX11 reports that 39-year-old Christopher Horeth will spend six years in prison for the death of his sister.
Horeth was convicted after a five-day jury trial in April.
According to prosecutors, Horeth traveled to Milwaukee to buy what was thought to be heroin and then gave it to his sister.
The sister died from fentanyl toxicity, as stated by the Fond du Lac County Medical Examiner’s Office.
Fond du Lac District Attorney Eric Toney said after the conviction, “No parent should have to bury their child, but fentanyl continues to kill, with families and communities devastated from the deadly impact of fentanyl.”
While adding, “We will continue to fight for justice for those families in the hopes we can deter others from feeling the deadly impact of fentanyl.”
