Traffic in Sheboygan will be heavily affected during an upcoming event this weekend.
The 3rd Annual P1 Powerboat Sheboygan Midwest Challenge is set to take place from Friday (August 8th) through Sunday (August 10th), and along with it will come extensive road closures throughout the weekend.
Kicking off the weekend will be the Downtown Block Party on Friday, which will cause closures on North 8th Street and North 7th Street, both running from Center Avenue to Niagara Avenue.
New York Avenue will be closed from N. 8th Street to N. 7th Street, and Wisconsin Avenue will be closed between N. 7th Street and N. 6th Street.
These closures will run from 3:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.
Additionally, Broughton Drive between Pennsylvania Avenue and Ontario Avenue, along with Pennsylvania Avenue from N 4th Street to the Lake Michigan shoreline, will close at 6:00 a.m. Friday and remain closed for the entirety of the weekend.
Starting on Saturday (August 9th) at 6:00 a.m. Lakeshore Drive will close between Georgia Avenue and Ashland Avenue until the event concludes on Sunday.
