Plymouth’s Mayor is set to proclaim that the city is for the birds.
Plymouth will be hosting a World Migratory Bird Day event on Thursday (August 7th) at 10:00 a.m. at the Plymouth Chamber of Commerce.
At this event, Mayor Don Pohlman will read a World Migratory Bird Day Resolution in honor of Plymouth’s Bird City Wisconsin status.
Bird City status signifies a community’s efforts to protect and manage ecosystems, educate citizens, and lower threats when it comes to making a municipality a friendlier place for birds.
In addition to Mayor Pohlman’s proclamation, there will be World Migratory Bird Day materials on hand for those in attendance, including free window reflectors, which help keep birds from flying into glass panes, tips for creating bird-friendly homes, coloring books, and more.
Other municipalities in our area with Bird City Status include Manitowoc, Two Rivers, and Appleton.
Those who cannot attend the event next week will have a chance to watch via Facebook Live by visiting the City of Plymouth Facebook page.
