Manitowoc’s 19 u American Legion baseball team has a rematch with Middleton in an elimination game Friday (this) afternoon at The AAA State tournament in Stevens Point.
These two teams met on Tuesday night in the opening round, with Middleton rallying to defeat Post 88 5-4 in 9 innings.
Manitowoc has won twice to keep their hopes alive for a state title, defeating Stevens Point 5 to 3 on Wednesday and routing Eau Claire 11-2 yesterday.
Post 88 comes into this afternoon’s game with a record of 21-10, while Middleton has a record of 19 and 5.
The winner advances to play either Appleton or De Pere Saturday (tomorrow), having to win twice to claim a title.
The first pitch this afternoon is scheduled for 4:30 p.m.
