The application deadline for the upcoming sturgeon spearing season on the Upriver Lakes is tomorrow.
According to the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources, spearing tags will be limited due to high interest and harvesting rates.
A drawing will determine 500 tag recipients, each permitted to spear one sturgeon.
Successful applicants will be notified in October, with the season officially starting in February.
