The Sheboygan Lakers Ice Center is offering a chance to escape the heat and hit the ice this weekend.
The Beat the Heat Welcome Back Skate Bash will be held on Sunday (August 3rd) at the Ice Center from noon to 4:00 p.m.
This annual event will provide the opportunity for kids in the community to try skating for free and to learn about the programs the Sheboygan Lakers have to offer.
From noon to 1:00 p.m., a free hockey session will take place, followed by a free figure skating session from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m.
The remaining two hours will then be an open skate session open to everyone in attendance.
Off the ice, attendees will be able to enjoy food from numerous food trucks that will be on hand as well.
The Lakers will also be looking to give back to the community during the Welcome Back Skate Bash.
All attendees are encouraged to bring a non-perishable food item to the event, with the Lakers donating all collected items to the Sheboygan County Food Bank.
Registration for the event is required, and a link to sign up can be found by visiting the Beat the Heat Welcome Back Skate Bash Facebook event page.
